I love Kickstarter projects that present really innovative product design ideas that make me say, “Why didn’t I ever think of that?!” That’s why I really like seeing the Polepod, which uses the poles you already carry to make a tripod.
Photography and the great outdoors go hand in hand, but when it comes to carrying around bulky equipment, sometimes it’s hard to choose whether the extra bulk and weight is worth it, or whether the sacrifice in camera gear is the better option. NV8 Design recognized this dilemma and came up with the Polepod. Rather than trying to design a lightweight and packable tripod, they took a different approach: why not use the poles you already bring with you? Most hikers carry either tent poles, trekking poles, or both. The Polepod fits snugly onto the poles of your choice and allows you to take those pictures you otherwise would miss: time lapses, long exposure shots, HDR shots, and of course family or group photos with everyone included!
We really like that the Polepod works with even just two poles:
Synopsis: The poles you are already carrying make up 90% of a tripod. Polepod is the 10% that makes it work. Polepod transforms hiking, tent, or ski poles you already have into a functional tripod. Check it out here:
