Machete Testing with Watermelons

Zac and I have racked up a decent amount of machetes over the last couple months, so we thought it would be a good idea to put some of these to the test by using them in an unscientific test to cut watermelons. The machetes that we used for this were the Bear Grylls Parang, the Gerber Gator Pro and the Cold Steel Kukri. The following video documents the watermelon slicing that ensued.

All of these machetes were more then able to easily and cleanly slice a watermelon. It should also be noted that we did not sharpen any of them, we just used them as we bought them. Let us know what you think of the video in the comments. We are going to try to put together more of these videos in the future when we are reviewing new gear. You can also see a walk through of the features associated with each product in the below videos and can purchase all of them from OutdoorPros.com.
