A couple weeks ago I had the opportunity to head up to Vancouver, Canada for the weekend. In my research of outdoor related activities to partake in I found myself instantly excited about the Capilano Suspension Bridge. The Capilano Suspension Bridge is a unique attraction that is one of the most popular in Vancouver and is a suspension bridge that is about 450 feet long and 250 feet off the ground. It has been there in one form or another for over 100 years and is a completely unique trip that I would recommend to anyone who is interested in trying something wild, yet safe while in Vancouver.
The Capilano Suspension Bridge itself is the main attraction for the area, but once you pay the $30 dollar charge per person to enter you can go to the bridge as well as the cliffwalk and the treetop adventures. All are unique and worth doing.
The treetop adventures take you up about 100 feet above the ground for a series of 10 or so bridges that allow you to walk between the various trees. It is a lot of fun, but it seems less exciting after you have walked across the main bridge.
The Cliffwalk though is a completely different experience. It is hard to describe but picture a trail suspended from the side of a cliff with large metal beans and anchors and you will start to understand what it is. It is about a quarter of a mile walk along this path suspended in the air that gives you a unique perspective on the ground below and the face of the cliff.
There are also outcroppings that allow you to walk out on a clear piece of glass so you can see the ground about 100 feet below you. At the end you can also see a beautiful pond and waterfall out in the distance and it is a perfect way to complete this amazing walk. I would highly recommend this portion of the park as well.
If you are in Vancouver you should make it a point to go check out this area. At only 15 minutes from downtown it is a close excursion that can be seen in half of a day. The price is a little expensive at 30 dollars a person but the opportunity to see and experience something that you probably haven’t before makes it worthwhile.

I see they have extended and improved the area since I was last there. Glad you were able to get up north for some sightseeing but the next time try to make it east of those mountains into Alberta for a true Canadian mountain experience!
Andra it was super nice I would love to spend a lot more time up in Canada that was my first trip there, it was even better then I expected!
