McWay Waterfall

This is a quick post on a stop I made on my trip up the coast. Along highway 1 in Big Sur there is a beautiful waterfall that actually falls right onto the beach. It is unlike any waterfall I have ever seen, and the hike itself is about a half mile to take in this beautiful site. World of Waterfalls even choose this waterfall as number 9 on their top ten waterfalls in the USA.

When you see the waterfall for the first time it is like something out of a dream. Unfortunately you cannot get closer then this without getting a ticket, although I heard that if you kayak in that is allowed with a ticket. I would love to try this at some point in my life as it would truly be amazing to see this waterfall from up close.

If you find yourself in this area of Big Sur there is no reason not to stop and see the McWay waterfall. Also, across the road from the waterfall there is another beautiful hike that is highly recommended and that I will post about in another blog, but for now I will leave you with another picture of this beautiful waterfall.

What about you, have you been here? If so have you kayaked in? Make sure to leave a comment.

What a gorgeous looking place! I love anything that is water, especially ocean related. I have never been to this place but just looking at the photo, I almost think I hear the waves crashing against the rugged coast!
