Lancer 5000 and the Riverside Raincross 5K

I am a fan of stringing together races especially of varying distances, it gives me more reasons to train and typically enables me to reach a higher level of fitness for the second race. That’s why I was excited when I noticed that the Lancer 5000 and the Riverside Raincross 5k were on back to back weekends. I have been working on my speed and time on shorter races and I had two great opportunities and run some PRs!

For the Lancer 5000 I ran it in 19:04 which is a 6:08 pace, I came in 28th overall and 5th in my division. There were a lot of cross country kids there from high schools and colleges, it was pretty intense and even though I put in a good time I was not even close to medaling. Running as an alumni was great I enjoyed coming back to school to support the track team.

For the Riverside Raincross 5K I ran it in 19:02 which is a 6:07 pace, I came in 12th overall and 3rd in my division. I was really stoked about this race because it was a much harder course, two legit hills, much colder weather and I felt like I was running much better. I ran this same race last year in 22:46 so I have really improved from last year.
