San Clemente State Beach Camping

Last weekend some of the guys at OP decided to take a camping trip down to San Clemente State Beach. This beach always has a soft spot in my heart as it is where I learned to surf, but I had never been able to actually camp there due to how fast the sites fill up. In order to get a camp site you have to sign on 6 months in advance so we actually booked this site through Reserve America http://www.reserveamerica.com/ in February for preparation for a prime July spot.

If you are ever booking a camp spot take my suggestion and pick spot 85, that is where we were camping, and the views were so beautiful from it that the rest of the camp came over to watch the sunset from our plot. Our camp site was right on top of the bluffs which had views of the whole area and was only a 5 minute steep walk to the beach.

The days consisted of surfing and hanging out while the nights consisted of campfires, guitars and Smores. The weather was so perfect that I slept outside under the stars the first night. I woke at first light with the morning mist and the ants saying hi, but it was worth it for the stars and beautiful music of the ocean.

Below are some of the pictures from the trip, and if you are a Southern California resident make sure you check out this campground.

If you have been there before or have a different camp site you suggest we try, leave it in the comments.
